Loan Calculator provides calculators for personal and general loans, mortgages, combined commercial-and-housing-fund loans, prepayment, benchmark (LPR) rate changes, borrowing affordability, home-buying costs, car loans, rate comparison and repayment-method comparison — together with bilingual guides covering amortization, extra payments, APR, affordability and more.
Every tool keeps the inputs, results and the month-by-month schedule on a single page so you can check and compare them. All calculations run locally in your browser; the site does not upload or store your inputs and does not require an account.
How we calculate
Our payments, interest and schedules use the standard amortization formulas lenders use:
- Equal monthly installment — a level payment derived from the loan amount, the periodic rate (annual rate ÷ 12) and the number of payments (years × 12), sized so the balance reaches zero on the final payment.
- Equal principal — the same principal each month plus interest on the remaining balance, so payments start higher and fall over time.
Combined loans are computed at each component's own rate and then merged. All results are estimates; your actual figures depend on the lender's day-count rules, fees, rate resets and rounding.
How our content is written and reviewed
The tools and guides on this site are written and checked by the editorial team that builds and maintains these calculators. Articles are reviewed against the calculation method and formulas before publishing and carry a last-reviewed date; we revisit and update pages when rate policy, calculation rules or common questions change. Reference sources include the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Reserve.
Advertising and independence
This site shows ads through Google AdSense to fund its operation. Ad content is served automatically by the ad system and is independent of our tool results and editorial views; it does not influence how we explain repayment methods, rates or products. We do not sell loan products and do not earn referral commissions.
Important notice
Our results and articles are for general education only and are not financial, tax or lending advice. Actual rates, fees, repayment methods and approval decisions are set by your bank, lender or the relevant authority; confirm figures against an official contract or offer before deciding.
